Fiscal Year 2007
(July 1, 2006 - June 30, 2007)

The financial health of the Alzheimer's Association improved significantly in fiscal year 2007 with the national organization recording total assets of almost $141 million, an increase of 13 percent compared to fiscal year 2006 assets of $125 million. Total revenues of $97.7 million increased 21 percent from 2006, of which $79.7 million came from donor contributions as more people joined us in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Together with our network of 78 affiliated chapters, unaudited revenues totaled over $241 million.

Expenses were well managed by the national organization, allowing us to increase our program spending ratios from 2006. The Association increased funding for programs and services by 37 percent. More than half of this increase was from research and the Association’s international research conference. With our chapter network, the combined Alzheimer's Association expended over $174 million on program activities to forward our mission. To advance progress in Alzheimer science, we invested more than $37 million in research, the largest annual amount in our history. As the largest nonprofit funding resource, we strive to increase our research funding each year to achieve our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.

The Association continues to meet and exceed minimum standards of 65 percent program expenses set by the BBB Wise Giving Alliance. We were at 82 percent.

We are honored and grateful that our donors respect our stewardship, embrace our mission and are a vital part of the movement to conquer Alzheimer’s disease.
