Mission Statement: To heighten awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, provide support for all affected families and promote the advancement of research.

About YPAAC:

  • YPAAC formed in 2006 as an auxiliary to the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado.
  • YPAAC serves the state of Colorado to help educate people about Alzheimer’s disease.
  • YPAAC gives the next generation of business, civic and community leaders a way to get involved in philanthropy and network while having fun and serving a good cause.

Facts About Alzheimer’s disease:

  • An estimated 65,000 Coloradoans are living with Alzheimer’s disease.
  • In 15 years that number is expected to grow by 124% to 140,000.
  • 500,000 people under 65 have Alzheimer’s disease; at age 65 one in eight, and at 85 years of age 50%, have the disease.
  • The youngest person diagnosed with Alzheimer’s to date was 27 years old.
  • 10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer’s unless we can find a cure (boom lasted from 1946-1964, marked by 76 million total births).
  • For every person with the disease, there are three others whose lives are changed forever.
