Forget Me Not Days

The Central Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association is grateful that so many businesses and individuals support its cause through annual fundraisers and volunteer efforts.

Bankers Life and Casualty Company has hosted a Forget Me Not Days campaign each May for the past 10 years. Employees stage themselves at various locations across the area and collect donations while increasing awareness about the Alzheimer's Association. In exchange for a donation, they hand out packets of Forget-Me-Not flower seeds and ask that they be planted in honor of the estimated 5.4 million people with Alzheimer's. The national fundraising campaign has raised more than $2.4 million for the Alzheimer's Association.

The Chapter thanks the Peoria office of Bankers Life and Casualty for its magnificent support during the 2012 Forget Me Not Days campaign. Employees surpassed all expectations by raising more than $1,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. Executive Director Nikki Vulgaris and staff were invited to the Peoria Bankers Life and Casualty office in June to accept a check and tell employees how their hard work will help suport the chapter's efforts to provide support services for area families. Vulgaris and staff immensely enjoyed their visit. Well done, Bankers Life! We'll see you again next year.
