Tools for Raising Money and Spreading the Word

Six Simple Steps to Online Success

1. Sign up for a Memory Walk Just by registering online, you are taking the first step towards a world without Alzheimer's.

  • Registration Tip: If you would like a personalized link for your Web page that you can easily send to family and friends, please create it at registration. NOTE: This link cannot be edited or created later.

2. Set up your Personal Page Your Memory Walk personal Web page is an easy way to raise funds and awareness to stop this devastating disease. On this page, you can tell your story, manage and monitor your fundraising progress and e-mail personalized solicitations to friends and family inviting them to make a donation or become a participant.

  • Make it personal – Add a picture. Tell your story. Let the world know why you are on the move to end Alzheimer’s. While there is sample text available, nothing is more compelling than your own words.

  • Bookmark your personal website so you can easily access your page to see your progress, send emails and make edits to your site.

3. Starting a Team? Recruit members online – Your team members can quickly and easily register online. Have people join your team from your team Web page, or send a team registration link via e-mail. Instructions.

4. Fundraise online Send e-mails to friends, family and colleagues. Then check your personal headquarters to monitor your fundraising progress.

  • Fundraising Tip: Never underestimate the power of a thank you…and writing thank-you notes is really easy if you follow these instructions and use our thank you e-mail template.

5. Use Social networking - Are you on Facebook? Twitter? Do you blog? Social networking is one of the fastest ways to spread the word about Memory Walk.

6. Encourage team members to use their online personal pages – Once you see what the tools can do for you, encourage your team members to see what the tools can do for them.

Don't forget to ask your donors if their employer offers matching gifts. Use the link above to find out if a company will match gifts to the Alzheimer's Association, and download a matching gift form.
