Respite Reimbursement Grant Application
On occasion, we are able to distribute funding for Respite Care Grants to help caregivers take time for themselves while knowing that their loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia are cared for and safe. Below is information regarding our current open Respite Care Grant opportunities.
Respite Care Assistance Program
Counties served: Douglas, Sarpy, Cuming
We are happy to announce that we are able to provide reimbursement for caregiving services through our Respite Care Assistance Program for residents of Cuming County, Douglas County or Sarpy County. The grant period will run from January 15, 2017 until September 15, 2017, or until funds are depleted.
In order to utilize this grant, the following requirements must be met:
- Complete the appropriate Respite Care Assistance Program Application
- Submit a Physician Statement if you have not submitted on in prior grant cycles (included in the Application).
- Complete a caregiver education class or attend a support group session. You may find these listings on CommunityResourceFinder.org
Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Grant Program
The Home Instead Senior Care® network and Hilarity for Charity® are partnering to provide a much-needed grant program to provide in-home care services for families living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
This Alzheimer's Care Grant Program is open to any family in the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec). Throughout the life of this program, grants for in-home care services will be awarded on an ongoing basis to families living with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia.
The Hilarity for Charity team knows how important free resources are for families and works closely with the Alzheimer's Association and the Home Instead Senior Care network to provide families access and guidance to available care and support programs and resources.

Nebraska Respite Network
The Lifespan Respite Subsidy Program pays for respite services to give the primary caregiver a temporary break. A program through the Nebraska Respite Network (not sponsored through the Alzheimer's Association).
MedicAlert® + Alzheimer's Association Safe Return® Grant Available
Thanks to the generosity of Valmont Foundation and the Omaha Rotary Club, we are proud to offer this program free of charge to Nebraska residents. The grant provides a one year membership and accompanying jewelry device(s) to the Medic Alert + Safe Return Program for individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another dementia and/or their care partners. Dementia Care Conference Family Caregiver Scholarships
The Dementia Care Conference has been the premier conference for the state of Nebraska regarding best practices for dementia care and support for over 12 years. An array of presentations have been delivered from prestigious researchers, high profile family caregivers, dynamic community leaders, and extraordinary health professionals. The conference has grown every year in size, number of offerings and sponsors. Family caregivers and persons living with an early stage diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease may attend the conference at no charge by signing up with our Chapter or a conference scholarship.
