Walk to End Alzheimer’s unites the entire community — family, friends, co-workers, social and religious groups and more --- in a display of combined strength and dedication in the fight against this devastating disease.

While there is no fee to register, each participant is expected to fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness.

Check out our Do-it-Yourself fundraising ideas!

Technologically Un-challenged!
Text or email your friends and family with links to your Walk webpage. Using social networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter allow you to send out tweets or an updated status with information on how to donate to Walk.

A Gift that Keeps on Giving
Do you have a birthday, anniversary, or a special holiday coming up? Try asking family and friends to make a donation to Walk. What gift could be more meaningful?

Go Casual for the Cause
Let employees dress casually for a small donation (usually $5 to $10) and show their commitment to the Alzheimer’s Association. We provide the Casual for a Cause stickers, you provide the employees. Do this fundraiser year-round!

Sweet Givings
Buy or bake cookies, wrap them up, and attach a little note explaining why you’re Walking. Drop them off on your neighbors’ doorstep or on your co-worker’s desk.  It’s a delicious way to ask for a donation to a worthy cause!

Have a Sale
Host a garage sale, bake sale, or car wash. All are great ways to reach your Walk goal! Utilize websites like eBay and Craigslist to help you sell your unwanted items. Gather friends to sell baked goods and wash cars for a little extra money. All proceeds can benefit your Walk fundraising

Be a Guest
Ask your local grocery store or bartender if you can work for donations. Dress in purple to let people know why you’re there. Customers may be more willing to make a hefty tip when they hear about your enthusiasm for the cause.

Back to School
Contact your local school and ask if they will help you with your Walk efforts. Having a reward will encourage kids to take part in your fundraising. See if the principal will allow the top fundraising students to have a crazy hair day or dress their favorite teacher in a funny costume once you’ve met your Walk goal.

A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned!
Decorate boxes or jars with purple glitter or a fun design! Pass them out to friends, family, and co-workers so they can use them to collect their spare coins. Every bit gets you closer to your goal.

A Little Laughter Goes a Long Way
Encourage co-workers, friends, and family to make a donation towards your Walk efforts in exchange for you doing something silly once you meet your goal. Who wouldn’t dig into their pockets to see you in a chicken costume or shave your head? Get creative and have fun!

Create a Theme
Plan a party or gathering. Come up with a fun theme and invite your friends to dine with you for a small donation towards your Walk goal. Get inspired. A purple, poker party! Mexican Fiesta! 70’s Disco! Ideas are endless.

“Flower” Your Neighbors’ Lawns
Be spontaneous and use our paper “Forget Me Nots” to flower your neighbors’ lawns. Leave a love note at their door step encouraging a donation towards your Walk goal in exchange for having the flowers removed.

Host a Restaurant Night
Host a fundraiser at your favorite restaurant, diner, or bar. Participating restaurants will donate a percentage of purchased food and drinks to your Walk Team. Create a fun flyer to give to family, friends and co-workers.
