Scientists: Making a difference
All conference participants - those from the United States and visitors from other countries - will have a chance to learn more about ways to collaborate with lawmakers to ensure that Alzheimer research worldwide receives the funding it needs.
On the last day of the conference, U.S.-based attendants will have the opportunity to participate in a briefing about key issues and messages about government research funding. Immediately afterward, they will visit Capitol Hill to urge key Congressional representatives to increase federal funding for Alzheimer research.
In collaboration with Alzheimer's Disease International, guests from outside the United States will be part of a discussion exploring concrete ways for scientists to work with their national Alzheimer organizations and bring greater public awareness of the disease, positive government action and increased participation in research activities.
