All materials to be presented at the 2007 Alzheimer’s Association
International Conference on Prevention of Dementia are embargoed
for publication and broadcast until the date and time of presentation,
unless the Alzheimer's Association provides written notice of change
of date and/or time in advance.
In most cases, one-on-one interviews can be arranged with news briefing
presenters. Arrangements can be made through the Press Office staff
in advance of the 2007 Prevention Conference or in the Press Office
during the Conference.

Conference on Prevention of Dementia are embargoed for publication
and broadcast until the date and time of presentation, unless the
Alzheimer's Association provides written notice of change of date
and/or time in advance.
All news media representatives, scientists and their funders, and
exhibitors/sponsors agree to be bound by the embargoes and release
times stated on news releases and other news materials issued by
the 2007 Prevention Conference.

Media registration
and credentialing
News media may register on-site to attend the 2007 Prevention Conference
at no charge. Press registration and press badges are available
only to credentialed reporters, writers or editors from recognized
external print, broadcast, syndicated or online news organizations.
A maximum of four representatives from any news media outlet will
be allowed to register as press for the 2007 Prevention Conference.
If additional press registrations are needed, please contact the
Public Relations Department of the Alzheimer's Association at +1.312.335.4078
or media@alz.org.
The 2007 Prevention Conference will not allow press registration
nor issue press badges to:
- Publishers, or a publication's advertising, marketing, public
relations or sales representatives.
- Publishers, editors or reporters from in-house publications
or newsletters.
- Public relations, marketing, advertising or sales staff of
exhibitors, sponsors or educational institutions, or their PR
firms or consultants.
- Other individuals who are not actually reporting on the meeting.

Credentials
To register as press and obtain a press badge, identification certifying
that you are a member of the news media is required. This includes
at least one of the following:
- A recognized press card.
- A business card showing current and verifiable employment as
a reporter/writer/editor at a recognized news media outlet.
- A current membership card from the National Association of Science
Writers.
- A letter on the media outlet's letterhead stating that you are
on assignment to cover the 2007 Prevention Conference. (Note:
This is required of all freelancers.)

On-site
registration
On-site registration will be available in the Press Office for news
media who were unable to register in advance. Credential requirements
are the same for on-site registrants as advance registrants (see
above). Freelancers must present an assignment letter and copies
of recently published work.

Video/photo
regulations
Television, video crews and still photographers covering the
meeting are required to check-in immediately at the Press Office
each day.
Television, video crews and still photographers must be accompanied
by an Alzheimer's Association public relations representative at
all times when shooting inside the 2007 Prevention Conference.
Shooting schedules should be provided in advance to ensure Press
Office staff availability.
There will be no filming or still photography in the 2007 Prevention
Conference's exhibit hall/poster area without advance, written permission
from the Alzheimer's Association PR Department. Again, Press
Office staff must accompany anyone filming or taking photos in this
area.

Scientific
papers and visuals
Journalists who want to view and reproduce posters, slides, graphs
and other visuals to illustrate news coverage must have the presenters'
permission. Press Office staff will assist with requests to use
such materials.

Scientific
presentations/plenary sessions
As a courtesy to presenters, television and video crews and photographers
must obtain permission of the speaker and moderator before shooting
presentations. Television and video crews may not use artificial
lights during presentations. Lights may be used only before the
session begins or after it concludes. Flash photography during scientific
presentations and plenary sessions is not allowed.

Scientific
posters & exhibits
Crews and photographers are asked not to interrupt researchers and
others who are studying scientific posters and exhibits. Researchers
can be interviewed in lounge areas or as they leave the scientific
poster and exhibit areas. Quiet areas will be available for registered
journalists to conduct interviews. Press Office staff will help
schedule use of these spaces.

Internet/telephone/copier/fax
availability
- High-speed lines for access to the Internet will be available
to journalists in the Press Office on a first-come, first-served
basis.
- Telephones will be provided to journalists in the Press Office
on a first-come, first-served basis. A credit card or calling
card is required for all calls. "
- A photocopier will be available to journalists in the Press
Office.
