Alzheimer's Association Advocacy Day at the Capitol! (click on the title)

You are invited to attend!

Please join us on this exciting day as we gather at the capitol, DRESSED IN PURPLE, to show our elected officials how many residents of Texas are impacted by Alzheimer's disease.

Schedule at a Glance
10:00 - 10:30 am Sign-in
10:30 - 11:30 pm State and Federal Alzheimer's Association Policy Priorities
11:30-12:00 pm Texas State Plan on Alzheimer's
12:00 - 1:00 pm Lunch and Advocacy Training
1:00 - 3:00 pm Dementia Training in Long-Term Care Facilities

Lunch will be provided. If you have any dietary restrictions, please send an email to mmiranda@alz.org, as soon as possible. 
Transportation will be provided from San Antonio to Austin and back. The bus will leave from our office at 10223 McAllister Freeway, Ste 100, San Antonio, TX 78216, early in the morning. (TBD). If you prefer to take your own transportation, you may meet greeters at the front of the Capitol by 10:00 am.

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, May 25th
This is an exciting opportunity for you to learn about the Alzheimer's Association's Texas policy priorities, about what is being done to make Texas a dementia capable state, to develop new advocacy skills, and to network with fellow volunteers and families from other Texas chapters.

Mickey's Mania Golf Classic in only one of several events held on the weekend of The Longest Day. This year, The Longest Day falls on Monday, June 20th.The Longest Day is a signature event for the Alzheimer’s Association. Held on the summer solstice, teams across the globe honor those facing Alzheimer's disease with strength, heart and endurance. From sunrise to sunset, teams participate by putting their passion to good work — doing what they love, trying something new or selecting an activity that honors a friend or family member.

The Wakely's love to play golf and this tournament is their way of honoring Mickey and raising funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association.
