Memory Walk Wrap-Around Events

 

The Charleston Elks 13th Annual Alzheimer's Golf Tournament

Saturday, September 13
Seabrook Island, SC

Shot gun start at 12:30 PM.  $100 per person.  Sponsorships welcome.  This first class event will include door prizes and bonus features on various holes.  A Free Pour Awards Dinner Dance will be held following the Tournament at the Charleston Elks Lodge.  For more information, please contact Buddy Sirisky at cs242er2000@bellsouth.net  or 843-766-3448.

 

2nd Annual Paint the Town Purple Awareness Event

Saturday, September 13
Smoke on the Water in Greenville's West End
5-8 pm

This awareness event gets cooler every year!  Join us to learn more about Alzheimer's and Memory Walk, and just have a good time!  Come enjoy exceptional live blues music by Mac Arnold and Plate Full of Blues.   You'll even have the chance to look at (and poke) real brains while learning about Alzheimer's from Dr. Mark Kindy.  You won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind event!

Memory Walk Wrap-Around Events

Benefiting the Anderson Memory Walk:

Memory Poker Paddle September 6, 2008
8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Darwin H Wright Park. 

Paddle a kayak or canoe on a five mile course with destinations to obtain the highest poker hand!  All paddlers welcome- beginners and experienced!  Bring your own craft or rent one from Grady's Great Outdoors (call to reserve- rental fee is $20).   Grand Prize is a kayak donated by Grady's Great Outdoors! Join us for refreshing cocktails and tasty hors d’oeuvres while watching classic episodes of the hit series, Frasier, featuring Alzheimer’s Association spokesman David Hyde Pierce as Niles. And with every laugh and joke, we’ll raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. Pledge Cards are only $5 and additional pledges will be tied to specific events in each episode. Download flyer.

Calling all hands... Fire Department, Police Department and Emergency Rescue Squads... bring your best chili!  To enter your chili: Before August 29th $20.00, after the August 29th -$25.00.  

The public is welcome to come judge for themselves and enjoy the music of the Kudzoo band.  Skylyn Place will provide beer, wine, and iced tea along with cheese, sour cream, and crackers to enjoy with the chili for a night of fun!  Donations are suggested for chili and beverages.  Please call if you have any questions- 864-216-2436,  Regina Fargis
