Rona’s Ride for Memories and Alzheimer's

SHE DID IT!!!  OVER $10,000 RAISED!!  THANK YOU, RONA!!

Rona Altschuler, our volunteer Peninsula Walk to End Alzheimer's Chair, has started raising money already for her 2014 Walk to End Alzheimer’s team. She has been biking 3,100 miles from California to Florida with WomanTours to raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease and to celebrate the memory of her mother, Joyce S. Price, who passed away in 2011.

On her tour of miles of desert, mountains, swamps and beaches, Rona has ridden on every kind of road and met many people touched by Alzheimer's.  Every day her report on her blog tells of hazards she has navigated and new challenges she has met in spreading the word of the efforts that the Alzheimer's Association is making to end this terrible disease, as well as the services offered to those currently suffering directly and indirectly.

In addition to raising awareness of Alzheimer's disease, Rona's Ride also provides a fundraising opportunity. Money raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's® will help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into the prevention, treatment, and cure  for Alzheimer's, as well as funding the many educational and support services currently available to help the millions already affected.
