Greater Siouxland Memory Walk - June 28, Sioux City

Congratulations to our Greater Siouxland Memory Walk Champions!

Over a hundred Walkers converged on the Anderson Pavilion Saturday morning, June 28 to raise awareness and funds for programs and services throughout Greater Siouxland.  Over $34,000 was raised altogether--more about that (and photos!) to come, but for now take a moment to recognize our top fundraisers ...

  • Sue Thompson topped all individual adults by raising $629, followed by Lori Shaffer and Sandi Baron.
  • Top individual youth was Maureen Lohry with an amazing $5,000, followed by Katie Fox with $1,650 (see our Local News section for more about Katie and Grandpa's Gang).

  • Home Instead of Sioux City raised $2,749 to win the team title, and the Heaton Family was our top family team.

  • Sunrise Retirement Community won the Health Care Challenge by raising $2,650; runner-up was Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab, representing our statewide presenting sponsors at Care Initiatives.

Our thanks to everyone who walked or helped the Walk to come off without a hitch ...more to come!
