You will have access to your very own Web site that you can use as your fundraising headquarters. Then recruit family, friends and colleagues to join your team - and ask for donations. Here are some tools to help you rally your team around the cause:
Fundraising toolsFundraising doesn't have to be difficult! You have the support of the Alzheimer's Association behind you.
Matching gifts: Don't forget to ask your donors if their employer will match their gift. Submit matching gift forms to jessica.abadmaz@alz.org or fax to 713.314.1312.
Letters: Spreading the wordOnce you've set up your page, start reaching out to others to ask for donations! If you don't know where to start, check out some of the sample letters provided below: Volunteer for Memory WalkThere are many ways you can get involved in Memory Walk. Contact Jessica Abad Maz at 713.314.1343 or email jabadmaz@alz.org for more information. Local event committee: Enjoy details? There many event-related responsibilities that require the assistance of dedicated volunteers. Help your local Alzheimer's Association to secure the Walk location and plan activities before or after the event. Event day: On the day of the event, we need volunteers to help set up, clean up, sign walkers in, run activities, serve food and more. We need individual and group volunteers. Team captains: You don't have to walk to be a team captain! As a captain, your big job is rallying walkers and motivating them to raise funds and awareness for our cause. 2009 Sponsorship OpportunitiesA Memory Walk sponsorship offers you the opportunity to show support and concern for a major national health issue.
