The Longest Day is one of the signature fundraising event for the Alzheimer’s Association, and like the highly successful Walk to End Alzheimer’s, individuals and teams can organize events and fundraise all year round . The event is traditionally celebrated on the Summer Solstice, (June 21), and is all about love: love for someone with dementia, love of being active, love of being part of an effort to end this disease!

Why I Support the Walk to End Alzheimer's®

by David Beaton - Kelton Enterprises
Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop franchisee

It’s really quite simple—we need to end this disease, and the Alzheimer’s Association is the premier organization working toward that goal. Many of us have been touched by this dreadful disease in some way. I lost my dad to Alzheimer’s and watched the immense toll it took on my mom, who retired early to provide 24/7 care for him. As a corporate leader in WNY I feel fortunate to be able to support the Association’s efforts. For many years I have supported every Walk in the Western New York region by supplying Timbits, coffee and tea for Walk participants and a donation to the Chapter to help further their mission. I am hoping to see my colleagues in all industries and fields across the region step up and join me in supporting any or all WNY Walks this fall.
Thank you, David and Tim Hortons!

EVERYONE has a reason to Walk--what's yours? Share your story with us and we'll post it here to inspire others to join our effort to rid the world of Alzheimer's disease.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is a family-friendly, all-ages appropriate FUNdraising walk at five Western New York locations this fall. Entertainment, souvenirs, basket and 50/50 raffles and snacks are all available on the day of Walk, with fundraising encouraged to earn wonderful incentives and benefit our mission to end Alzheimer's. Your fundraising helps us provide resources and education for all those impacted by dementia across eight counties (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming) and a portion of funds is dedicated to research to find treatments and a cure for this progressive and fatal disease.
There is no fee to register/Walk, but fundraising is strongly encouraged, as this is the major source of support for us.
Info/registration by clicking HERE, by calling 1.800.272.3900 or by visiting the WNY Chapter office at 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6 (at the corner of Harris Hill) in Williamsville.

Is your company, facility or agency interested in supporting any/all Walks in a meaningful way while reaching thousands of people? Consider sponsorship--several levels are available!

Young professional women from our community hit the turf for a flag football game that aims to raise funds and awareness of Alzheimer's disease and the Alzheimer's Association WNY Chapter. There are so many ways to get involved with RivAlz Blondes vs. Brunettes - volunteer, play, coach, cheer from the sidelines!

Even if you can't attend the game, you can still support these amazing women by making an on-line donation to the RivAlz Program at:
BvBBuffalo.com or follow the teams on Facebook - www.facebook.com/BvBBuffalo.
