In this issue, we explore the personal connection that Microsoft founder Bill Gates has with Alzheimer's disease. We also report on our latest success in engaging elected officials at every level of government in the fight against Alzheimer's. Thanks to our advocates, whose ranks include many NARFE members, we have helped grow support for increased research funding at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) leading to nearly tripling the funding in just five years. Our advocates also have worked to secure Medicare coverage of critical care planning services for people living with dementia. And, advocates shared their voices to ensure the passage of the RAISE Family Caregivers Act. Thank you again to NARFE for your strong partnership. We couldn't do this without you.
