Our first-ever virtual Alzheimer's Association International Conference® (AAIC®) was a success! At AAIC 2020, the world's largest, most influential international meeting dedicated to advancing dementia science saw more than 33,000 people from 160 countries register as attendees. AAIC is renowned for introducing promising studies and trials to the dementia science world. This year was no different — research presented suggested that flu (influenza) and pneumonia vaccination after age 60 is associated with a lower risk of Alzheimer's and other dementias. Read more on the key takeaways from this AAIC 2020.

Studies show blood tests for Alzheimer's might be on the horizon
Multiple studies reported at AAIC showed advances in blood tests for abnormal versions of the Alzheimer's-related protein tau. A blood test has the potential to make diagnosis simpler, more affordable and widely available. Learn more.

Walk with us in your community
There's still time to join the NARFE Walk to End Alzheimer's® team and go purple — the color of Alzheimer's. This year's Walk may look a little different, but we remain dedicated to ending Alzheimer's and encourage you to join in! We won't have any large, in-person events — instead, we invite you to walk in small teams of friends and family while others in your community do the same. Learn more.

In-home services can help a person living with Alzheimer's and their caregiver
In-home care for a person living with Alzheimer's includes a wide range of services provided in the home rather than in a hospital or care facility. It can allow an individual living with Alzheimer's or another dementia to stay in their home and can also be of great assistance to caregivers. Learn more.

Take precautions to avoid issues with multiple medications
A person living with Alzheimer's or another dementia may be prescribed multiple medications and also have prescriptions for other conditions. Care needs to be taken with all medications and when more than one is being used. Learn more.
