Dear Family and Friends,
There is great unrest in the world as I write these words, and I know our community is experiencing fear and uncertainty. As we prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday, I'm also heartened to find gratitude during this very complicated time.
I'm thankful for family and friends like you whose support of The Judy Fund moves us closer to the Alzheimer's Association vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia. Because of you, we've reached our ambitious $10 million fundraising goal — thank you.
I am thankful to welcome a new member to the Gelfand family — Judy Lu McBride, born just three months ago to my niece Ilana (Gelfand) and her husband, Marcus McBride. As my mother's namesake, Judy brings much joy to our family and hope for a generation free of Alzheimer's.
As a Walk to End Alzheimer's National Team, I am thankful for every team across the country representing The Judy Fund, keeping us on track to exceed our 2023 goal of $50,000.
I am thankful for our beloved Sammys — the men of Sigma Alpha Mu, who continue their long legacy of generosity as they approach the remarkable milestone of raising $1 million for The Judy Fund.
And I am thankful for the steadfast, ongoing commitment from our friends at Democracy Jeans. Last year their "round-up" campaign raised $11,000 to fund vital research to help unlock the mysteries of this relentless disease.
Most of all, I am thankful for our wonderful supporters, like you, whose unwavering dedication brings us closer than ever to a new era of Alzheimer's survivorship. I hope you will consider a gift to The Judy Fund in 2023 to help fund research toward treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
We are so grateful for each one of you, and we hold you in our hearts in these challenging times.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Gelfand Stearns
