Eating processed red meat linked to increased dementia risk
A diet rich in processed red meat may increase the risk of dementia, according to new research reported at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference® 2024 (AAIC®). The researchers found that study participants, followed for decades, who ate at least two servings per week of processed red meat (such as bacon, bologna or hot dogs) had a 14% increased risk of dementia, compared to those who ate less than three servings per month.
