    2025 Gulf Coast Caregiver Conference

    We are excited to announce that the Alzheimer's Association Caregiver Conference will be returning to the Gulf Coat on June 26th, 2025. This single day event is dedicated to supporting and empowering caregivers in our community.  Caregivers, families and professionals affected by Alzheimer’s or dementia are invited to join us, free of charge.

    8:00am registration opens

    8:30am           Diagnosing Dementia
    Hannah Fore is an Adult-Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner at Memorial Hospital. Her presentation will cover the basics of Alzheimer’s, symptoms, different types of dementia and current advancements in Alzheimer’s treatments.

    9:30am      Interpreting Communication for People Living with Dementia
    Melora Jackson is the Director of Clinical Services for Second Wind Dreams and a Certified Trainer of the Virtual Dementia Tour. Her presentation will discuss the communication barriers for people living with dementia and explain strategies for more effective communication.

    10:45am       Handling Grief & Loss
    Emily Dixon is a Hospice Social Worker for the Hospice of Light through the Singing River Health System. Her presentation will discuss the grieving process, different types of grief and effective coping strategies.

    Dennie Mayhone is Elder Law Attorney, author and the founder of Mayhone Elder Law, PLLC. His presentation will help families identify what legal documents are needed, understand care options and identify asset protection planning options.

    Tracy Daniel-Hardy is a retired educator, author, Alzheimer’s Association volunteer community educator and current giver for both of her parents. Her presentation will discuss how to support an individual living with dementia so that they can remain independent for as long as possible.
