Support Groups and Social Engagement

Get the emotional, educational, and social support you need. We offer a variety of support groups for all individuals living with Alzheimer's disease. Groups are facilitated by trained volunteers.

Caregiver Support Groups
It is very beneficial for family members and caregivers involved with caring for a person with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia to attend support group meetings. Attending meetings can help you to feel less alone and learn that others share in your feelings, frustrations, and concerns. The listed groups are general groups for all caregivers of an individual with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia unless otherwise noted. For more information on these groups, contact 800.272.3900.

Telephone Support Group
For those caregivers who feel they could benefit from a support group, yet find it difficult to travel to a meeting site, we have a telephone support group. For more information regarding joining the telephone support group, call 800.272.3900.

Early Stage Support Groups
Do you have a loved one who was recently diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer's disease or another dementia? The Nebraska Chapter offers early stage Alzheimer's disease and other dementia support groups designed for care partners and their loved ones with a diagnosis of early stage dementia. The participate in a non-threatening environment to discuss issues dealing with emotions affecting the loved one with dementia, the caregiver, the family and others as well as promote ongoing education.

Please contact Mollie George at 800.272.3900 or mjgeorge@alz.org for more information, questions or to reserve your spot.
