Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, co-chair of the Alzheimer's Study Group (ASG), appeared on the "Today Show" to talk about the state of health care in America and his participation in the ASG.
Originally called for by the Alzheimer's Association and the Joint Congressional Task Force on Alzheimer's, the ASG is a non-partisan, blue-ribbon panel of national leaders, created to assess the nation's readiness to deal with the Alzheimer crisis and develop a national strategic plan. The ASG will release its recommendations during our upcoming Alzheimer's Association Public Policy Forum.
In addition to the release of the ASG report, veteran award-winning journalist and author Maria Shriver will be a featured speaker at this year's Forum. Her father, Sargent Shriver, is battling Alzheimer's disease.
