Alzheimer's disease creates both chemical and structural changes in the brain that impact function and behaviors of persons with the disease. Understanding thses changes can translate into better care and interactions for the person with dementia.  

By attending this seminar, you will learn:

Featured Speaker

Melanie Bunn, RN, MS, GNP, has been in nursing for over 20 years. She has provided care to older people in retirement homes, nursing and assisted living facilities, hospitals and home care agencies. She has held a variety of positions, including staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist and gerontological nurse practitioner. Ms. Bunn received a B.S. in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.S. in Family Health Nursing with a clinical concentration in Geriatrics from Clemson University. She completed her post-masters experience in the Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Program at Duke University School of Nursing.

Continuing Education 3.0 hours is offered for nurses, activity professionals and social workers. Please state discipline at the time of registration.
