Florida State Advocacy Days
In a new year, we renew and strengthen our commitment to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease by 2025. That means 2020 sets the stage for our countdown to the cure!
Florida has the second highest prevalence for this disease in the United States. Your voice is crucial in the fight to end Alzheimer's.
The 2020 Rally in Tally will take place on Tues., Feb. 4-Thurs., Feb 6.
We need you with us in 2020
Join us in Tallahassee as all three Florida chapters of the Alzheimer's Association host "Rally in Tally" - a state advocacy experience where you will meet your state legislators, tell your story, and explain why it is important for them to make Alzheimer's issues a top priority!
Participants will learn about recent state developments concerning Alzheimer's education, support services and funding.
Advocates and Alzheimer's state champions will gather together on the steps of the Florida Historic Capitol for the "Purple Lighting Ceremony" and press conference followed by the State Advocacy Dinner.
The next day advocates will meet in the historic Senate Chambers. Following, legislative meetings will take place throughout the day in the Capitol.
Buses will arrive back in Southeast Florida the following day.
Please sign up with family members and friends. This is your opportunity to tell our elected officials what is important to you!
The Alzheimer's Association does cover a majority of the costs associated with this trip. This year, and in years past, we do receive financial assistance from our advocates in order to allow even more people to participate from all parts of our state – including those living with Alzheimer’s.
This year it has become evident that more people will attend Florida's state advocacy days than attended last year!
As incredible as this is, we must stretch chapter resources in response to such a significant turnout. To accommodate everyone that wants to come, we are asking participants, if able, to help pay any portion of their journey to the Capitol.
Please understand no one is required to pay the amounts given above to attend, but any cost you're able to help with, will make a tremendous difference in providing a safe and comfortable journey for the entire team – especially those that couldn’t afford to travel without assistance.
Payments can be made to your local Alzheimer’s Association Chapter Office before January 31st.
