The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. The 13 Walks across Southeast Texas attract more than 10,000 participants and in 2014, raised $1.4MM growing 21%. The 2014 Houston Walk to End Alzheimer's was the 21st largest Walk to End Alzheimer's in the nation.

Local sponsors of Walk to End Alzheimer’s have a unique opportunity to impact the success of the event while displaying commitment to the local community. At the Alzheimer’s Association, we take pride in offering mutually beneficial sponsorship packages that offer a wide range of rewards for participating companies and organizations. Sponsors are encouraged to take their commitment one step further by organizing a team to walk and raise awareness.

2014 Highlights

  • Media Coverage: ABC 13, FOX 26, KPRC, KHOU, CultureMap, Houston Press, Majic 102.1.
  • Honorary Emcees: Dominique Sachse, KPRC; Rekha Muddaraj, KHOU; TJ Aulds, Galveston County Daily News; and Allison Brown, KNDE/WTAW/KZNE.
  • Major Sponsors: Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, EOG Resources, and NRG Energy.
  • More than 10,000 Participants.


  • 73% of participants were female.
  • 61% of participants were between 30 - 54 years of age.
  • 46% of participants have a Bachelor's and/ or Professional degree.
  • 67% of Walkers participated because a friend, family member, or colleague had Alzheimer's or a related dementia.
