Caregivers

No two people experience Alzheimer's disease in the same way. As a result, there's no one approach to caregiving. Your caregiving responsibilities will change as the disease progresses.

Caring for an elder can be fulfilling in many ways, but it is also a demanding responsibility. Don't feel like you have to go it alone. Preserve your well-being by seeking support from family and friends, and getting help from resources in your community.

Start by contacting the Alzheimer's Association 24/7 Helpline at 800.272.3900. Our knowledgeable professionals can provide information, advice, crisis assistance and a connection to your local Association office for ongoing help.

The information sheets below cover a variety of caregiving topics. Also learn about common caregiving concerns in this section, including safety tips and stress relief.
