Three dementia experts from the University of Colorado Alzheimer’s & Cognition Center will present a free program on “Family History, Genetics, Dementia & Alzheimer's” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 6. Offered in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Association, the program will be delivered online in a Zoom webinar.
Dr. Tara Carlisle, Dr. Emily Forbes and Marissa Lafreniere, a certified genetic counselor, will present and lead a discussion on the risk that each of us may face for developing Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia, whether or not we have a family history of the disease.
The program will explore how family history and genetics influence our dementia risk, and the role they play in advancements in diagnostics, treatment and care.
