2019 Alzheimer’s Association Legacy Award

Joan and Paul Rubschlager are Zenith Society members who generously contributed $1 million in 2012 to support the Association's global research program. In 2018, they made a second Zenith Society-level investment to support the nutritional counseling and modification component of the U.S. Study to Protect Brain Health Through Lifestyle Intervention to Reduce Risk (U.S. POINTER). Beloved members of the Gala Steering Committee, their legacy of support spans across many fields of medical research and the arts.

Known globally for his 2018 song “Blank Stares” — written about his late mother Sherry Rich who suffered from Alzheimer’s — Jay Allen has received worldwide recognition for his viral hit, with over 200 million views and 200K followers on social media. His touching story has been featured across multiple media platforms such as People, Forbes, ABC World Nightly News, and Pickler & Ben. Jay and his family have been committed advocates of the Alzheimer’s Association, raising awareness by sharing their journey with Alzheimer’s disease around the country.
