NARFE and the Alzheimer’s Association: A Growing Legacy of Help and Hope
The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) has partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association since 1985 to help realize our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s disease. Thousands of NARFE members have volunteered countless hours raising awareness for the Alzheimer’s movement and funds to accelerate the pace of discovery in Alzheimer’s research.

Over the three decades of their unwavering commitment to our cause, NARFE members have raised and donated more than $13 million to the Alzheimer’s Association’s Global Research Program. In recognition of their extraordinary commitment, NARFE is a member of the Alzheimer’s Association Zenith Society
, a group of philanthropists who set the bar for leadership giving, engagement and impact in critical mission areas of Alzheimer’s care, advocacy, awareness and research.
"We dedicate our donations to research because it’s the only way we will stop the devastation of the Alzheimer’s crisis and give real hope to millions of American families affected the disease,” says Richard G. Thissen, former NARFE President. “We are proud of our partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, and with their leadership we know it’s only a matter of time till we end this disease.” Make an online donation personally or on behalf of your NARFE chapter.
NARFE became a National Team for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® in 2016 and since 2014 has raised more than $175,000. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Start or join a NARFE Walk team.
