    As the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research, the Alzheimer's Association provides educational programs near Honolulu, Hilo and Kahului for people living with dementia and their caregivers.

    Available online and in person, our free education programs feature the latest information on dementia-related topics, including living with Alzheimer’s disease, caregiver training and more.

    Dementia Meets Palliative Care

    Program Description: Palliative care is a specialized form of care that supports persons living with serious illnesses. Join the Alzheimer’s Association - Hawaii and guest speaker, Lani Weigert, Community Relations Manager at Hawaii Care Choices and explore what palliative care is and how it could be a good fit for persons living with Alzheimer’s disease. .

    Our Honolulu County and Support Programs are part of the OAA National Family Caregiver Support Program and partially funded by Federal funds.

    The Alzheimer's Association, in collaboration with AARP-Hawaii, welcomes back behavioral specialist Dr. Dennis Pezzato to talk about the importance of learning and practicing Self Care, in order to benefit all aspects of life. This practice becomes critical during the time one assumes the role of caregiver.  Dr Pezzato will use his many years of experience as a Caregiver Counselor to share insights, tips, and techniques that will help you with this process. Designed for the general public, this free session's focus is on developing self help skills to enhance mental, emotional and physical wellbeing and to discover local available resources.
