Cognitive training to promote brain health: implementation and engagement

    Rogerio Panizzutti, MD, PhD
    Trinity College
    Dublin, Ireland

Dr. Panizzutti plans to study the feasibility of implementing individualized brain training for thirty older adults in Ireland and Brazil. The researchers plan to conduct interviews with participants and key informants and use the information to design individualized training programs. Prior work has been inconclusive regarding the effect computerized cognitive training may have on brain health and additional studies are needed. The study results could inform future larger sized trials to evaluate the efficacy of this approach and determine how computerized tools could be incorporated as one of the interventions for long-term care of brain health.
