Towards a Latin American Approach to Dementia Networking

    Agustin Ibanez, Ph.D.
    Universidad Adolfo
    Viña del Mar, Chile

Dr. Agustin Ibanez’s project aims to create awareness surrounding dementia and build scientific engagement and collaboration across Latin America. Dr. Ibanez’s project will leverage his other ongoing studies to create a curated manual for clinical dementia diagnosis in Latin American countries. The study will build an accompanying software platform to house a dementia registry of individuals and develop an established leadership framework to help promote networking and global visibility of challenges posed by dementia in Latin American countries. The goal of Dr. Ibanez’s project is to generate a Latin American approach to improve the diagnosis of dementia by promoting local initiatives in these countries. If successful, the study results could lay the foundation of future larger studies that could support the implementation of regional strategic initiatives to tackle dementia in Latin American countries.
