Turn an activity you love into a way to fight Alzheimer’s
Chances are you’ve been impacted by Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia or know someone who has. For that important reason, we’d love for you to make 2025 the year you join the fight and make a new commitment to ENDALZ!
The Longest Day is a fun, flexible way to join the fight. Participants in this do-it-yourself fundraiser, select an activity, and pick a time that is convenient for them, and create their own unique fundraisers to fuel the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. With your support, we are empowering and mobilizing our community to give all people access to early diagnosis, treatment and quality care throughout their journey.

Ready to get started? We've got the tools to support your success!
Step 1: Get started online
Once you register at alz.org/TLD you can get started online by customizing your webpage, URL and downloading your custom QR code to add to posters. Here's an easy how-to guide!
You can also connect your fundraising webpage to your Facebook profile starting a Facebook Fundraiser. Learn how to set this up in your Participant Center.
And be sure to download the ALZ Fundraising mobile app for easy check deposits and on-the-go fundraising!
You do not need to have all your fundraising ideas solidified to start your online efforts now. You can go back and edit any information through your participant center dashboard anytime!
Step 2: Share your story & build your team
Encourage family and colleagues to join your team from anywhere! They can join through your link or QR code and donate $20 at checkout to get their t-shirt, too! Each team member will also get their own page, link and QR Code and their efforts will support your team total. Consider creating a friendly competition among the team to see who can raise the most towards your total. Encourage the team to spread the word by sharing "their" story and your event info on social media, by email and with our media team.
You can also share your ALZ story with our media team for potential use on our social media or with local media!
Step 3: Plan your event
Decide what date, where and when. Then consider how you can "multiply" your efforts. Create a small committee of volunteers to help with event logistics, marketing, sponsorships. Then think about who you can partner with to drive in attendees for your "unique" type of event. Can you partner with a local group or club to bring more people to the event? Can you challenge another group to join your team and fundraise in support of your team by creating a competition? Is there a local business that may want to make your event an employee team building or wellness initiative? Is there a church or school that may want to engage youth in your event? Sphere of influence
What other ways can you fundraise? Can you do a 50/50 raffle? Can you sell raffle tickets and draw winners for prize baskets or gift cards? Perhaps you can partner with a restaurant for a dine & donate event as your kickoff or post event party. Can you sell BBQ, hot dog plates or ice cream yourself? You should also consider seeking local sponsors to help promote and offset your costs. Check out out Getting Started Fundraising Guide for more ideas.
Whatever you plan, we are here to coach and guide you every "step" of the way and connect you with resources to support your efforts. You can even request supplies through this form!
To stay up to date on things here locally join our Facebook Group. This is also a great place to post and share your event flyers.
We can’t wait to learn more about your planned activity, who you are honoring, and help you reach your goals! Reach our TLD Manager, Betsy Brown, anytime at bembrown@alz.org or 864-699-0623. She is happy to answer any questions, brainstorm ideas or help you get started.
The Longest Day is the day with the most light – the summer solstice, but you don’t have to wait until June. No matter what time of year you participate in The Longest Day, your fundraising dollars fuel our mission-related initiatives of care, support and research. In addition, your actions, both through fundraising and participating in the event helps to change the level of Alzheimer’s awareness in your community.
