When you or your loved one is living with dementia and you find that you don't know where to go for information, the Alzheimer's Association is here to help. Individuals and families can make an appointment with an Alzheimer's Association staff member who will help assess immediate needs and concerns and provide information about other resources available in the community. Common topics include:

  • Information about the diagnosis process.
  • Understanding dementia as it is affecting you and/or your loved one now and preparing you for the changes to come.
  • Working through diffcult transitions such as limiting driving, bringing in homecare or moving to a care community.
  • Communication tips.
  • Education about late-stage care and end-of-life decision.

There is no fee for this service. Care consultations may be provided in our office, over the phone or through email. This service is available to individuals or groups. Individuals are encouraged to schedule a care consultation at any point in the disease process and may want to schedule follow-up appointments as needs change and new issues arise.
