Is this a support group?

Young Champions are not an official Alzheimer's Association support group, but we do offer time during our monthly meetings to talk through life events and support each other informally.

How much does membership cost?

Membership is completely free! We have fundraising events throughout the year that we would love for you to attend, but there is absolutely no financial commitment to be a Young Champion.

What is the time commitment?

We appreciate that everyone has different availability, and we respect those individual commitments. At Young Champions, we don't set a fixed time commitment for volunteers. We understand that your schedule may vary. However, we do hope that you can join us for at least half of our monthly meetings and participate in some of our fundraising, advocacy, and volunteer events. Your involvement, even if it's not a specific amount of time, contributes significantly to the growth of our mission.

Are there leadership opportunities within the Young Champions?

Yes! Please email Maria Lind Magagna at mclind@alz.org to learn more about the process of becoming Young Champions leadership and joining the Executive Board.

Do you have age restrictions for the Young Champions?

We like to say that we are open to anybody who considers themselves young at heart, but we find that most of our members are between the ages of 18-40.

Can non-members attend events or participate in activities?

The more the merrier! We love to meet new people and they are welcome to dip their toe in by joining a monthly meeting or event. View upcoming events.

How can I stay updated on upcoming events and group news?

We are active on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, so we recommend you follow us on those platforms! We also have an email list that we send event reminders, opportunities, and meeting minutes to. To be added to the email list, please email Maria Lind Magagna at mclind@alz.org!
