Claudia Duran-Aniotz, Ph.D., MSc, is a neuroscientist focused on identifying and validating peripheral biomarkers for dementia in underrepresented and diverse populations. As co-director of the BrainLat Institute and director of the Translational Neuroscience Laboratory at Adolfo Ibáñez University, she leads innovative research aimed at integrating biomarkers into clinical practice, enhancing early diagnosis in Latin America. Dr. Duran-Aniotz directs biomarker initiatives within the ReDLat Consortium, which investigates genetic, environmental, and social factors affecting dementia in Latino populations. She also leads the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium on Dementia, driving research and regional collaboration. Her work prioritizes harmonizing biomarker protocols across underserved regions to reduce health disparities, while spearheading capacity-building initiatives to integrate biomarkers into clinical practice and research throughout Latin America.
