Julie M. Robillard, Ph.D.
Julie M. Robillard is an associate professor of neurology at the University of British Columbia and scientist in patient experience at BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Robillard holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuroscience and society at Neuroethics Canada where she is now a faculty member. Dr. Robillard leads the Neuroscience, Engagement and Smart Tech Lab where she brings her background in neuroscience and biomedical ethics to the evaluation and development of novel technologies to support brain health across the lifespan. A particular focus of her research is the integration of emotion modelling and measurement in a wide range of social technologies. In her role as a scientist in patient experience, she is working to advance the capture, analysis and improvement of patient experience in both research and care using technology as a novel strategy for engagement and evaluation. Within ISTAART, and among other leadership roles, Dr. Robillard is immediate past chair of the Technology and Dementia Executive Committee.
