Scott Ayton is a professor of neuroscience at the University of Melbourne as well as director of the NHRMC Centre of Research Excellence in Enhanced Dementia Diagnosis, head of the Dementia Mission and Translational Neurodegeneration Laboratory at the Florey Institute, and a NHMRC Leadership Fellow. Dr. Ayton pursues both laboratory (metabolism and physiology) and clinical research (fluid and imaging biomarkers, clinical trial) in dementia to discover the underlying causes, to develop and implement diagnostics, and to intervene with new therapeutics.
