Sudha Seshadri, M.D.
Sudha Seshadri, M,D., is a behavioral neurologist and the Robert R. Barker Distinguished University Professor at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, San Antonio. Since December 2017, she has been the founding director of the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer's and Neurodegenerative Diseases, which was designated as a National Institute on Aging Alzheimer Disease Research Center in 2021. The Institute focuses on comprehensive clinical care, research and outreach, particularly for underserved Hispanic communities in South Texas. Dr. Seshadri completed her medical education and residency in India, followed by additional training at Boston University and fellowships in Neurobiology of Aging and Neuroepidemiology. Her research targets Alzheimer’s disease and vascular brain injury, supported by over $95 million in National Institutes of Health funding and 500+ publications. She has lectured extensively, nationally and internationally, and leads several national and international consortia. A recognized leader in her field, she has mentored over 45 professionals and aims to develop effective interventions for dementia while empowering future clinicians and scientists.
