About Alzheimer's Association, San Antonio and South Texas Chapter

The San Antonio & South Texas Chapter was incorporated in 1989. From our humble beginnings as a volunteer-driven organization that primarily served San Antonio and it's surrounding area, we have expanded into an organization with 12 staff members and over 200 volunteers who serve 43 counties.

The Alzheimer’s Association San Antonio & South Texas Chapter, supports individuals living with dementia, their families and caregivers, and the professionals who care for them. The Chapter offers support groups, educational programs, individualized planning provided by licensed professionals, and community resource lists. It operates a 24-hour toll-free Helpline, Early Stage Programs, Safety Services for those at risk of wandering, training programs for health care professionals, and engages with governmental agencies and academic institutions to promote Alzheimer’s research and improved care and support. Last year more than 1,000,000 individuals were reached through cumulative program and education efforts, health fairs, advocacy activities, newsletters and website contact.

The Alzheimer's Association San Antonio & South Texas Chapter is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, donor-supported organization. Programs and services are made possible through contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations.

The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Our vision is a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
