    Hamid Okhravi, M.D.

    Hamid Okhravi, M.D., is a member of the Alzheimer's Association Board of Directors. He holds the distinguished Alfred E. Abiouness Professorship in Geriatrics and serves as the medical director at the Comprehensive Memory Center at Eastern Virginia Medical School, specializing in evaluating a range of cognitive disorders. Dr. Okhravi is also the Co-Director of the Lawrence J. Goldrich Institute for Integrated NeuroHealth, Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University.

    Dr. Okhravi's research is primarily focused on exploring innovative clinical therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease and investigating novel treatments for neuropsychiatric symptoms in individuals living with dementia. He is the principal investigator for 22 ongoing research studies, spanning pivotal clinical trials on both national and international fronts. Additionally, he holds the position of Site PI for the NIA-funded Alzheimer's Clinical Trials Consortium (ACTC) program, Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI4) and served as a Vanguard site principal investigator for the ALZ-NET National Registry. Dr. Okhravi is a member of the Alzheimer's Association's International Working Group for Alzheimer's Disease Plasma Biomarkers. He received his M.D. from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, followed by the completion of an Internal Medicine Residency Program at Saint Louis University and Hurley Medical Center in affiliation with Michigan State University. He completed his geriatric fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

    Dr. Okhravi was elected to the Alzheimer's Association Board of Directors in 2024.
