Harry “Lee” Van Boven

April 27, 1939 – March 1, 2020

Lee was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2010 and died ten years later. He was raised on a dairy farm in Redlands, CA. After receiving a Chemical Engineering degree he joined the Navy and was a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War. In 1971, Lee earned a law degree and joined a San Francisco law firm where he became the first Managing Partner. After 25 years with Farella, Braun & Martel he joined a long-term client, William Wilson & Associates, as Chief Operating Officer.

In addition to being a triathlete Lee loved cycling, skiing, hiking, mountain trekking and white water rafting. Other favorite pastimes included literature, fine arts, performing arts and travel.

Lee was a man for all seasons. He lived life fully. He had a calm and commanding presence. He was a man of substance, integrity and sincerity, with a quick wit, disarming smile and a ready wink.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, three children, two stepchildren and five grandchildren.
