Patricia Duffy Murphy

December 29, 1929 – November 13, 2019

Born in Germantown, Pa., Patricia graduated from Convent of the Sacred Heart, Eden Hall and attended the Pratt Institute in New York City. She married Vincent B. Murphy, Jr. on Sept. 7, 1953, and together they had 6 children.

Patricia was one of the first women invested within the American Sovereign Military Order of Malta. She was also a long-time supporter of the Summit Speech School and the Midland School.

Patricia lived an incredibly full life and left an enduring legacy through her devout faith, kindness and high moral standard. Oma, as she was affectionately known to her 20 grandchildren and Grand Oma to her 11 great-grandchildren, was the consummate host, loving provider and the glue that bound the Murphy family together. She created an extraordinarily unique environment. Every child and grandchild felt her love, warmth and support, and visited the farm on holidays, squeezing over fifty relatives under one roof. Family was paramount in her eyes and she instilled that deeply across the generations.
