Nancy Stevenson, Walk Committee, Milwaukee

“You should volunteer – come, check it out, get to know people, make a difference.”

Nancy has been involved with the Alzheimer’s Association for over 6 years walking in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Waukesha and Milwaukee Walks. She started volunteering on the Milwaukee Walk Committee a year ago. “All volunteering adds up,” says Nancy.  “If we all do a little bit, it all goes to common goal to find funds to find a cure,” Nancy. “I want to help and make a difference – when everyone does it together and you have a common goal, it’s amazing.”

Nancy’s wheels are always spinning trying to think of fun ways to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association and get people to set up teams for the Walk. During Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month Nancy hosted a Rooftop Yoga fundraiser to raise funds for the Milwaukee Walk. “It was really fun,” says Nancy. “I just want do what I can for a great cause.”

“Volunteering is great – we need to support each other where you can,” says Nancy.  “Start small and all of a sudden ideas come up for ways you can help. Do what you’re comfortable with – that’s where you’ll blossom.”
